by Cynthia Hammer, MSW, Author of the book, Living with Inattentive ADHD

ADHD is not a deficit of attention but an inability to pay attention to what’s boring. We can pay massive attention to what truly interests us.

The definition of ADHD which says we have a delayed neurodevelopmental condition. Delayed means late or slow in coming. It implies that we will eventually catch up with those without a delayed developmental condition.

I don’t know about you, but I am 81 years old, which gave me lots of time to catch up, but I haven’t and doubt I will sometime in the future. Those of us will never catch up. The best we can do is learn to manage a our chronic neurodevelopment disorder as best we can and live happy, productive lives..
