A Single Book Could Change Lives for Children with ADHD—That Is My Dream—And You Can Make It Happen

The memoir/self-help book I wrote about my life—Living with Inattentive ADHD: Climbing the Circular Staircase—is available for preorder wherever you buy books—in the US, Canada, Australia, NZ, the UK---and will be released on August 29.

If my book becomes a best seller, that alone will bring more attention to ADHD in women and the children with inattentive ADHD and the small royalty for each book (about $1.27/book) benefits the non-profit the Inattentive ADHD Coalition.

Preorders are very helpful as they demonstrate interest in the book and persuade stores to stock it.

Of course, I believe in my book, but Drs. Dodson, Hallowell, Nadeau, Jain, Faraone and so many others believe in it as well. Read their reviews and more about the book at www.iadhd.org/cynthiahammer

My first child died because of my undiagnosed ADHD and later I almost died, again because of my undiagnosed ADHD.  I also highlight many of the challenges of ADHD that we all experience and dispel the usual myths. I know you will find comfort and hope by reading my book and it will help your family and friends to understand the hidden aspects of ADHD.

I ask you to purchase it and to encourage others to do as well. Positive reviews are highly appreciated. Available as an e book as well and if popular, will be an audiobook.   Thank you.

Cynthia Hammer, MSW

Cynthia Hammer, MSW, was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD in 1992 when she was 49 years old. The following year she created the non-profit organization, ADD Resources, with a mission to educate adults and helping professionals about ADHD in adults. She ran the organization for 15 years before retiring.

During the Covid isolation she wrote a book about her life with inattentive ADHD which should be published by the end of this year. In writing the book, she was dismayed to learn that children with inattentive ADHD continue to be under-diagnosed and adults with inattentive ADHD often are incorrectly diagnosed with depression or anxiety.

She created a new non-profit in 2021, the Inattentive ADHD Coalition (www.iadhd.org), to create more awareness about inattentive ADHD and the need for early diagnosis and treatment.
